Chile is a long, narrow country that is often associated with ufology, or the study of reports of unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
Television reports, the release of videos of seemingly strange phenomena in the skies and the existence of the Section for Studies of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena (SEFAA, for its Spanish acronym) —the government agency responsible for investigating those reports— have fueled that image of the country for decades.
